Elizabeth slammed the door unintentionally after entering the apartment. She finally felt cozy and relaxed. She liked her job and agency and all the people there, from Christa, who was vegan, to Andy, with his often walked around thinking about the project. Other people got used to Andy, always walking around while thinking.

Elizabeth brought food from a local Chinese restaurant where she met Julie. Julie was Chinese, but no one could pronounce her real name, so she was Julie.

After dinner, she opened the fortune cookie. On the paper, there was just one word — “spider.” After a moment of curiosity, she forgot about the paper.

She put her reading glasses on, sat comfortably in her armchair, and got a book about Austria, preparing herself for a European trip.

She was amazed, and instead of reading, all focus was on photography. She had already seen such places in the States, but something was different. She stands up, gets a glass, pours some Malbec into it, and returns to the armchair, picking up the remote control for the stereo system. She looked for some Austrian music. She found it cheerful and funny, so she started laughing inside.
She got back to the book.

At some time, she noticed a small dot moving between her and a book. She took off her glasses and saw a tiny spider hanging from the floor. She picked him up, opened a window with a book, and let him go away.

She noticed that it was half past eleven, almost midnight, and decided to finish the chapter and go to bed.

Suddenly the window opened widely, and out of her eye, she quickly saw something like a dark fog enter. Okay, I am too tired, she said loudly.

She prepared her for a night of sleep.

After entering the bedroom, lights automatically turned on and dimmed. She made her pillow fluffy, pulled the blanket on her, and told Alexa to turn off the lights.

She suddenly woke. She could not breathe. She tried to move but felt something on her mouth and nose, preventing her from breathing. She could not move as something invisible tightly held her legs and arms.

After a moment, she faints, almost without calmly having a point of light in front of her eyes. She tried to sharpen her vision.

The last thing she ever saw was a little spider.
