Relaps is worst case scenario. I saw dozens of people trying to quit but they got strange idea about „just one drink“ and it never ended well. One and only way to be sober is never drink again.

As I am active in Club for cured alcoholics I see that regulary. Some people are sober for years, even decades and get back to drinking in days. Once I met guy, he was sober for 17 (!!!) years and get back to addiction in few weeks.

It is common in medicine that one drink will make from sober, cured alcoholic a new alcoholic in no time at all.
