The same thing happened with Google and Calendly.
I do not see a particular problem here.
The money I am paying is mine; I earned it.
Grammarly, for example, used to be a very nice addition, especially for me, as English is not my mother tongue.
Looking back, what has Grammarly improved in the last years? Nothing. They introduced AI to rewrite MY thoughts, which I find deeply disrespectful.
Their editor looks like it is from the year 2000, comparing it to Google Docs or iA Writer.
My subscription will expire in December. They charge me 140 USD annually (or 30 monthly if you get a monthly plan).
I am sure they have quite a nice customer base. Sometimes, it is an okay idea to invest something into product development.
Years ago, Trello was one of my choices, and I also chose Evernote and ClickUp. I had no accounts there anymore.
But what are they all doing?
Try to find a simple personal organizer. It does not exist as most task managers went into "project management" despite not knowing what Project Management as a discipline consists of. What am I using? Microsoft Project. And I am paying for that without a problem. It does the work.
So, killing such unreliable and greedy companies is completely fine by me. I don't care. It is a service we are paying for, not God's gift.
