We agree. Sometimes I think about Tarkovski's "Solaris," an adaptation of Lem's book.

I consider 2001: A Space Odyssey the greatest science fiction film ever made. I don't have adequate words to describe my reverence for it. Stanley Kubrick made a true cinematic landmark (and indeed it is an incredible experience if one sees it in the cinema). But parody is the ultimate compliment and the ultimate mark of respect.

We agree. Sometimes I think about Tarkovski's "Solaris," an adaptation of Lem's book. It is in the top five books on my list marked as a "tough topic."
